A hotel advertised with separate bathrooms may still sell rooms with a combined bathroom. Hotel Vista Fukuoka Nakasu-Kawabata and Henn na Hotel Fukuoka Hakata both have categories that separate the bath, toilet and washbasin, alongside smaller rooms that do not. Choose the category before treating this feature as part of your booking.
For two people who want to bathe and get ready at different speeds, start with Vista’s Comfort Double or Comfort Twin, or Henn na’s standard Double or Twin. Vista’s Moderate Double and Henn na’s Semi Double do not offer the same bathroom arrangement. A similar bed or floor area does not make them interchangeable.
Check the room category, not just the hotel name
A three-part layout means that the bath, toilet and washbasin occupy separate areas. A listing that says “private bathroom” only tells you that the bathroom is for your room. A bathtub and a bidet in the amenities list do not establish the floor plan. Read the description for the selected category and open its photographs or official plan.
For a solo overnight stay, a combined bathroom might be an acceptable compromise. For a shared morning routine, keeping the washbasin available while someone bathes can be a reason to choose another category. Decide which activities overlap in your room before comparing hotel names or paying for a larger space.
At Vista, two 17 m² doubles have different bathrooms
Vista’s official table gives both the Moderate Double and Comfort Double an area of about 17 m² and a 150 cm-wide bed. The Moderate Double has a unit bathroom; the Comfort Double has the three separate areas. When choosing between these two doubles, the word “Comfort” matters more than the matching area. Keep that category on the confirmation.

The Moderate Single has a unit bathroom and an area of about 16.5 m². The roughly 13 m² Showered Single has a shower but no bathtub. Its name is not evidence of a separate toilet. If a bath is part of your evening routine, remove the Showered Single from your shortlist rather than assuming the hotel’s general bathroom description covers it.
The Comfort Twin is about 26 m², with two 110 cm-wide beds and a three-part bathroom arrangement. It offers a different proposition from the 17 m² Comfort Double when you want separate beds and more time in the room. Floor area alone still does not prove that two large cases can remain open without blocking a door or walkway.

The Superior Twin is about 28 m², with two beds and a sofa bed, plus the separate bathroom areas. The presence of a sofa bed is not a booking for an additional guest. Match the number of travellers, bedding and selected rate before paying. This comparison does not establish availability or a family’s eligibility on any particular date.
The Universal Twin is a useful exception: it is about 26 m², but the official table describes an accessible unit bathroom. It has a different purpose from the Comfort Twin, including a step-free arrangement and bathroom handrails. A traveller who needs those features should assess them directly rather than treating all large twin rooms as the same bathroom design.
Vista notes that layouts vary with a room’s position. Its plans can help you understand doors and circulation, but they do not promise a particular orientation or the exact room shown in a photograph. If turning space, assistance at the washbasin or a particular door arrangement matters, send the category name and your requirements to the hotel.
The trade-off at Vista is the care needed to choose within the hotel. Finding the right property is only the first step if the cheapest visible double is Moderate. Identify a Comfort Double or Comfort Twin, then compare its cancellation terms and meal inclusion on the same screen. A request for a different bathroom is not a confirmed category upgrade.

At Henn na, a semi-double differs from a twin
Henn na makes a similar distinction between Single and Semi Double rooms and its standard Double and Twin rooms. Its official page specifies unit bathrooms in the first two and separate bath, toilet and washbasin areas in the latter. The hotel-wide facilities list is a starting point, not a substitute for the selected room’s description.
The Semi Double measures 12.12 to 13.94 m² and has one 140 cm-wide bed. The hotel describes its unit bathroom as relatively small. Sharing a bed and sharing a morning routine are separate decisions: a bed that suits you does not make the bathroom layout suitable. Start again with the standard Double or Twin if separation is essential.

The standard Double is 18.02 m² with one 157 cm-wide bed and separate bathroom areas. The standard Twin is 18.94 to 19.25 m² with two 110 cm-wide beds. Decide whether you want one bed or two before browsing the many themed categories. This keeps the comparison focused on the room you will actually use.

Henn na’s standard Twin and Vista’s Comfort Twin both list two 110 cm-wide beds and a separated bathroom arrangement. Their areas differ: Vista lists about 26 m². That is worth considering if you spend evenings resting or sorting luggage indoors. Henn na’s layout may suit a stay spent mostly outside. Neither is a price winner without matching dates and rate conditions.
Henn na also varies its clothing-care equipment by category. The standard Double and Semi Double list an LG Styler, while the standard Twin and Triple explicitly do not. Check the bathroom and appliance separately so that one appealing feature does not obscure the other. An LG Styler is a clothing-care appliance, not a washing machine.

For three travellers, do not read a Triple photograph as a promise of the same free space as a Twin. The hotel says that adding a sofa bed to the twin layout makes it considerably tighter; the listed area remains 18.94 to 19.25 m². Separate bathroom areas do not solve the floor-space question once all bedding and luggage are in use.
This comparison uses the standard rooms, rather than temporary collaborations or themed packages. If you do not need character decorations or special gifts, start with the ordinary Double or Twin. If a themed photograph attracts you, check that category’s own dimensions, bed widths and sale conditions rather than importing the standard room’s specifications.
At Henn na, the compromise is that bed arrangement, appliances and room size do not all move together. Decide whether a separate-bathroom Twin or a Double with a Styler better suits you. If an agency translates the room name differently, send the original category and area to the hotel or seller and ask which room the booking guarantees.
Match the station exit to your luggage
Both hotels use Nakasu-Kawabata Station as their access reference. “Hakata” in Henn na’s name does not put it directly outside Hakata Station. Henn na’s address is 5-4-19 Nakasu, and Vista’s is 14-28 Kamikawabatamachi. Save the full address and the appropriate station exit before arriving with cases.

Vista’s official route is about three minutes on foot from Exit 7 at Nakasu-Kawabata. It directs guests through the Kawabata ticket gate towards Hakataza and identifies escalator and lift access. The station photograph was taken in 2022 and the theatre façade in 2024. They show the setting; check current station guidance for operating access and works.

Henn na lists about three minutes from Exit 2, which has stairs only. For an escalator or lift, it instead gives a route of about five minutes from Exit 4. Whether to carry a case up stairs can matter more than a two-minute difference in the hotel’s walking estimates. Choose the route for your luggage, not just the shortest number.
After selecting a room, consider where your evenings end. The Kawabata arcade and Hakata River photographs illustrate the neighbourhood around Nakasu and Kawabata. They do not confirm today’s shops or a continuously covered walk to either entrance. For rain, check the final outdoor section from your chosen exit on the hotel’s access page and a current map.

For longer periods indoors, think through how luggage and bathroom use overlap. Photographs do not establish whether an open case blocks a door or how washbasin lighting affects a sleeping companion. If these details determine your stay, ask about the relevant door or room position rather than relying on a broad request for a quiet room.
What to check before paying
Compare like with like at the end: Vista’s Comfort Double against Henn na’s standard Double, for example. Mixing a double with a twin changes bed count and area as well as price. Align meals, payment timing, tax and cancellation deadlines before deciding what you are paying for the layout. No live rate or stock claim is made here.
Before paying, check the property and address, original category name, area, bathroom wording and beds. A run-of-house offer needs its own guarantee if you require a particular layout. Writing “separate bathroom requested” in a message is different from buying a confirmed category. Use the terms recorded on the booking confirmation.
If children travel with you, do not infer eligibility from area or bed width alone. Ages, party size, existing bedding, extra bedding and meals can affect the booking. The same care applies to an accessible room: tell the hotel which functions you need and choose the category for which it answers those requirements.
For a separate bathroom, begin with Comfort at Vista and the standard Double or Twin at Henn na. Confirm the exact category, then compare station exits, luggage handling and the time you will spend indoors. If an in-room washing machine is a more important requirement, read the separate Fukuoka laundry-room comparison alongside this one.
