How the check works

What we compare

We look at the destination's public holidays, events that move hotel demand, and long holidays in Korea, China and Japan. Check-out day is included, so you can also see if you arrive or leave on a holiday.

Should you avoid these dates?

If the event is why you are going, those are your dates. Just expect different prices and faster sell-outs, so decide on the room you need and compare early.

Where the data comes from

Holidays start from open public-holiday data and are corrected where official government calendars differ. Events and holiday periods are listed only when organisers or governments have announced them.
