Its official notice says the hotel on Rosenthaler Platz closed from 1 November 2026. The Circus Apartments remains a separate accommodation option at another address. A familiar brand does not carry the old hotel's rooms, reception or breakfast arrangements across to that building. The useful comparison is between space you will use and the way you want to arrive. Circus Apartments offers separate living space and equipped kitchens; Numa Berlin Checkpoint Charlie offers a choice of rooms and kitchenette studios with digital check-in. Neither is a direct replacement for every feature of the closed hotel. Start with your sleeping arrangements, meals and need for help on arrival. ## Start with the right property The Circus announcement distinguishes the closed hotel from the Apartments and Hostel, which remain open. It gives no replacement hotel address or reopening date. This guide therefore considers only The Circus Apartments at Choriner Straße 84 as the active Circus option, rather than treating old hotel search results as evidence of current service. If you already hold a booking in the closed hotel's name, contact the seller and property about that reservation before paying for another room. We found no official statement that all reservations transfer automatically to the Apartments. Refunds, changes and replacement accommodation depend on your booking; this comparison does not establish those terms. ![Street view of Rosenthaler Platz]() Street view of Rosenthaler Platz · 2005 Numa Berlin Checkpoint Charlie, at Friedrichstraße 31, is run by a different operator. It is not a renamed Circus hotel. Its Agoda address retains the older Angleterre name, so compare the name and street address on the live property page. An old URL is particularly poor evidence for current reception hours or services. The room and service information below was checked on 1 November 2026. No travel dates or party size have been supplied, so there are no price or availability claims. Published room descriptions help you shortlist; they do not confirm that a particular room, bed arrangement or inclusive rate will be sold for your stay. ## Circus Apartments: space for daily life The Circus Apartments describes serviced apartments on a quieter side street near Rosenthaler Platz. Save Choriner Straße 84 in your arrival instructions. The closed hotel's address and a route described in an old hotel review will not take you to the right building. Confirm which entrance your booking instructions require before travelling with luggage. The official collection includes apartments with one to four bedrooms, divided into Classic and Signature types. The building name alone tells you little about the room you will receive. If one person will sleep while another works or eats, compare the actual bedroom count and the connection between the living room and dining area. The Classic 1 Bedroom Apartment is described as approximately 62 m². Its double bed uses two 90 × 200 cm mattresses; that is not a promise of two separate single beds. Ask about the precise arrangement if separate beds matter. An extra bed is on request, so do not count it as confirmed until the property has accepted your requirement. ![Bedroom in the Circus Apartments gallery]() Bedroom in the Circus Apartments gallery ![Circus Apartments bedroom opening towards living space]() Circus Apartments bedroom opening towards living space The listed kitchen equipment includes a stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and cooking essentials. This is useful if you intend to prepare meals over several nights. The official description also includes a living room, dining area and work desk. A home cinema or roof terrace belongs to particular categories, rather than every apartment. Washing and drying facilities are described at building level. Do not assume there is a private washing machine inside every unit. Children's equipment is also a request item. Give the property your dates and the equipment needed; the presence of a request option does not settle availability or the permitted occupancy of your chosen rate. Concierge hours are given as 07:00 to 21:00. These are neither a promise of a staffed desk overnight nor an established latest check-in time. Ask for the procedure if you expect to arrive outside those hours. Room service is tied to café opening hours, so it should not be treated as an all-night meal option. Choose Circus Apartments for a stay in which the kitchen, dining table and separate living space will earn their place in your plans. If you will be out all day and only sleep in the room, the extra space may matter less. Confirm late arrival and laundry arrangements before relying on them to make a longer stay easier. ![Exterior of The Circus Apartments]() Exterior of The Circus Apartments [The Circus Apartments · View rooms · Agoda]()[The Circus Apartments · View rooms · Trip.com]() ## Numa: choose a room or a kitchenette studio Numa Berlin Checkpoint Charlie lists ordinary rooms alongside studios with kitchenettes. Digital operation is a property feature; a kitchenette is a room feature. Do not book a room simply because the brand offers studios elsewhere. Check that the exact name and amenities of the product you select include the cooking facilities you need. The Medium Room is listed at 20 m² with a queen bed, and the Medium Room - Twin Beds at 21 m². These are sensible starting points when sleeping space matters more than cooking. If two separate beds are essential, select the twin category rather than assuming a double room can be rearranged on arrival. The Medium Studio with Kitchenette is 19 m² with a queen bed; the Large Studio with Kitchenette is 21 m² with a king bed. Compare the size and bed as well as the kitchenette label. The label does not establish the same oven, dishwasher and cooking equipment listed by Circus. Check any appliance your meal plans depend on. An Extra Large Studio with Kitchenette and Extra Bed is listed at 29 m² with king and single beds. The 1 Bedroom Apartment with Sofa Bed is 50 m² with a king bed and sofa bed. A sofa bed does not create a second bedroom. Think about evening privacy and whether someone needs the living space while the other person is asleep. ![Numa Checkpoint Charlie room with a bed and kitchenette]() Numa Checkpoint Charlie room with a bed and kitchenette ![Seating in the Numa Checkpoint Charlie lobby]() Seating in the Numa Checkpoint Charlie lobby The property lists weekly professional cleaning, luggage storage, a lift and a gym. Weekly cleaning does not mean daily housekeeping. If a mid-stay service is important on a short visit, check the applicable schedule and any extra service terms. Do not carry cleaning or checkout descriptions from older Angleterre hotel text into the current Numa stay. The official check-in time is 15:00 and checkout is 11:00. Numa's online check-in must be completed before the entry PIN is sent on arrival day. Its 24-hour online support should not be read as a permanently staffed reception. Keep the booking contact details and a way to receive and read the arrival message available. Numa is worth considering when you can choose the necessary room features and complete the digital steps in advance. A compact studio may suit simple meals, but it should not be presented as equivalent to a larger Circus apartment with separate living space. Compare named room types, not just two property names. ![Exterior of Numa Checkpoint Charlie]() Exterior of Numa Checkpoint Charlie [Numa Berlin Checkpoint Charlie · View rooms · Agoda]()[Numa Berlin Checkpoint Charlie · View rooms · Trip.com]() ## Plan entry and the final journey with bags Write down your likely arrival at the building, not only the landing time or train arrival. Circus requires confirmation of arrangements outside concierge hours. Numa requires completed online check-in and receipt of the PIN. Late arrival is therefore a practical question about access, rather than a feature to infer from an online booking button. A PIN delivered on arrival day will not necessarily be available immediately after booking. Prepare the online check-in link and confirm the contact address first. Ask how to reach support if the message fails to arrive or your phone is unavailable. Save instructions in a form you can consult without having to search through older hotel correspondence. ![Street view of Choriner Straße]() Street view of Choriner Straße · 2010 ![Entrance to Kochstraße underground station]() Entrance to Kochstraße underground station · 2007 Use the two street addresses to plan the last part of the trip from your station or airport. Calling both properties central Berlin hides the difference between their final walking routes. Check station exits, lift availability, engineering work and service changes with the transport operator for your travel date before deciding what is manageable with bags. The street and station photographs here are dated location context, not proof of today's entrances or step-free access. A short distance can still involve an unsuitable exit or stairs. For a wheelchair, buggy or large suitcase, establish the actual entrance and usable route instead of making an accessibility claim from a photograph. Think about checkout as well. Numa lists luggage storage, but this does not establish multi-day storage or late-night collection. Concierge and laundry facilities at Circus do not establish a luggage policy either. Give either property the intended drop-off and collection times if your last day depends on leaving the bags behind. ![Berlin Hauptbahnhof seen across the Spree]() Berlin Hauptbahnhof seen across the Spree · 2007 ![Checkpoint Charlie on Friedrichstraße]() Checkpoint Charlie on Friedrichstraße · 2016 ## Check the exact room and rate before paying Search with the same dates and your actual adults and children. Official floor areas and bed descriptions are not live inventory or a promise that an extra child stays free. For a larger party, compare the named room, bed count and confirmed extra-bed arrangement on the reservation itself before making payment. Compare the total and inclusions rather than a headline starting price. Read the cancellation deadline, prepayment terms, taxes and any separately listed service charges on the selected rate. A kitchen only adds value if you have time and inclination to use it; a digital arrival only saves effort if the instructions work for your circumstances. The hotel photographs show bedrooms, living space and exteriors from the property gallery. They do not guarantee a floor, view, balcony or the allocation of an official Classic category. Match photographs to the selected product, and ask about any layout feature that would change your choice rather than treating a gallery image as a contractual promise. For Circus, bundle your exact apartment type, bed needs, late arrival and laundry questions into one message. For Numa, check the kitchenette category, completed online check-in and the correct contact for the PIN. Those questions address the differences that matter more than a generic request for a convenient hotel in Berlin. Start with Circus Apartments if you want to live across a kitchen, bedroom and living room for several nights. Start with Numa if an ordinary room or kitchenette studio and a prepared digital arrival fit the trip. The goal is a stay that works now, rather than a reconstruction of an old review of the closed hotel. ## More hotels to consider These additional hotels broaden the comparison of locations and rooms.
